27. Februar 2026

Agrupamento de Escolas Terras do Ave (AETA) is a public school cluster located in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal, serving around 1,500 learners from preschool to secondary education.

As a non-profit public institution, AETA is strongly committed to inclusive education, digital transformation, sustainability, and the development of innovative teaching and learning approaches. The school cluster has a particular focus on STEAM education, coding, robotics, and technology-enhanced learning, while also promoting active citizenship and equal opportunities for all learners.

As part of the Portuguese Priority Intervention Educational Territory Programme (TEIP), AETA works in a context where inclusion and educational equity are especially important. A significant proportion of its learners come from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, and the school has developed strong experience in creating supportive, innovative, and student-centred learning environments. AETA is also recognised for its work in environmental awareness and student well-being, being an Eco-School and a Child-Friendly School.

AETA has extensive experience in European and international cooperation, regularly participating in Erasmus+ projects, eTwinning initiatives, and transnational partnerships. Through these projects, the school has strengthened its expertise in digital pedagogy, curriculum innovation, inclusion, and international collaboration. Within RoboStellars, AETA contributes its experience in integrating robotics, coding, and digital tools into school education, as well as its commitment to making STEM learning engaging, inclusive, and accessible to all students.

.The following key staff members will be directly involved in the project:

  • Paulo Ramalhoto is a primary school teacher of coding and robotics at Agrupamento de Escolas Terras do Ave (AETA), Portugal.
